Luna’s Story: A Second Chance Worth Fighting For
Luna’s Story: A Second Chance Worth Fighting For

Luna was just trying to survive.
She was found wandering through an auto mechanic garage, desperately searching for warmth—curling up inside car engines to escape the cold. Thankfully, the mechanics there had big hearts. They were used to seeing stray cats and made sure they were fed.
But Luna was different.
She was friendly. Trusting. The kind of cat who clearly belonged in a home, not a garage.
One of the mechanics took her in, bringing her home to his wife, who cared for her and made sure she got the help she needed. Soon after, Luna made her way into the care of Purrfectly Paired Pets, where she was safe, warm, and finally on her way to a better life.

But then, everything changed.
While in foster care, Luna suffered a devastating and completely unexpected accident. Her tiny foot became caught on the handle of a dresser—breaking her leg.
The diagnosis was urgent and heartbreaking:
She had just 7 days to receive surgery—or her leg would need to be amputated.
We refused to give up on her.
In an incredible act of generosity, a Good Samaritan and volunteer donated her Alaska Airlines miles and personally flew Luna to a specialty hospital in Salt Lake City, where she could receive the life-saving surgery she needed.
The surgery was a success.
Luna’s leg was repaired.
And today—after 6 long weeks of strict crate rest, bandages, and healing—Luna is on the road to recovery.
But her journey isn’t over.
Her surgery cost $3,000, and she still needs:
- Bandage removal
- Follow-up care
- A second procedure to remove the pins
- X-rays to ensure proper healing
The total cost of her care is expected to reach $4,000.
So far, we’ve raised $1,500.
We’re halfway there—but Luna still needs you.
Every dollar goes directly toward her medical care and recovery. Every donation helps ensure she not only keeps her leg—but gets the full, healthy life she deserves.

Luna didn’t ask for any of this.
But she trusted humans anyway.
And because of that trust, she was saved.
